early-morning fire in vallejo. ktvu channel reporter allie rasmus is live with the damage and information on how two people escaped the flames. good morning, allie. >> reporter: good morning. this fire started at:00 in the morning. now four hours later, investigators are going through the home trying to pinpoint what happened. firefighters are dousing the walls with water to make sure nothing flares up again. two people got out safely. more on that in a minute. first we want to show you the through. you can get a sense of how large this house is -- 3800 square feet. the size hans configuration of the house were both challenges for firefighters putting out this fire. so is the weather. it's warmer than unusual in vallejo and it is -- as it is in most pats. they had to bring in extra crews to relieve some of the firefighters who first responded to the fire. >> we went to three alarms on this. it -- it's a large house. it's an older house. my third alarm was to get crews on scene to help with the overall fire. >> reporter: two people were able to get out due to the smoke detector

. lorraine blanco, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> in overnight news a shooting in oakland, seriously injured a man and a woman. neighbors say there was gunshots just before midnight near 7th and fillmore street. allie rasmus is live. allie, a lot of damage there, right? i'm looking other your shoulder. >> reporter: a lot. the people we spoke to said there was were ten stray shots fired, one after another. there is a lot of damage in front of this apartment building. you can see some of the bullet holes in the window. there's one in the frame of the window and a lot of bullet holes inside this entryway. there's some underneath the bully ton board in the entryway of this apartment building. two people were hurt in this shooting. a man and woman were seriously injured. they were taken to the hospital. -- hospital. witnesses say four people approached the building, opened fire. we don't know if the couple were targeted. the man and woman were the intended target of the shooting or they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. what is also unnear is where the man and woman were -- unclear is wher

, this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> good morning, welcome to mornings on 2, i am dave clark. >> i am tori campbell, thursday, october 4th. we begin with developing news on the morning commute. bart has been experiencing major system-wide delays to the past two hours. ktvu's alex savidge is live there with developments. >> reporter: good morning, yes, this was a stalled work vehicle that had triggered delays earlier on. but that problem has been taken care of. we did just get word from bart a couple of minutes ago that all of their trains this morning are now running on time. earlier on the delays were significant. show you video of what it looks like here with video. a bart spokesman told us they were experiencing 40 minute delays on two lines from the east bay into san francisco. that would be those lines. this was because of a maintenance vehicle blocking tracks early this morning south of the mcarthur station. now that vehicle has been cleared out of the way but trains were backed up. everything started about 4:30 this morning when that vehicle that rides actually on the bart tracks it

coverage starts right now this is ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> thank you for joining us october th, i am pam cook. >> let's check weather and traffic, the secret word is cool. >> we have gone from 90s to 100 and there is a big fog bank out there and a very definite sea breeze for most, here is sal. >>> they are approaching the 580 interchange and also this morning traffic is doing well. getting word of a major bart delay also because of a maintenance vehicle stuck on the tracks we will have more coming up, let's go back to dave and pam. >>> two people were shot dead in vallejo and this started as a dispute between neighbors. we will have more on the suspected shooters military connections. >> reporter: we spoke to two neighbors who say the suspect and the victim knew each other. you can see a marine flag out in front and on the back of that driveway there are a number of bumper stickers on that car. they say this suspect is a marine, vietnam veteran being he lived in this home and when it comes to them they seem to get along. he was a long time resident and they know him well. >

is they hit the streets. reporting live in san francisco, ktvu channel 2news. >> another live look right now, we have a ktvu camera ready to ride along with them. again we are going to follow the critical mass bike ride and monitor tonight's ride, a lot of people out there getting ready to take off. we have reports that you posted on the route and any major traffic impacts if those happen. >> a vigil is about to part in nevado where a 12-year-old was struck and killed while riding her bike home from school. mike is in nevado and spoke with her family today about the hope she had for her future. >> reporter: and right now the memorial here at the accident sight continues to grow and as it does we now that the young girl was riding her bike against traffic. right here across the street on her way home. we talked to some family and friends and they came up with one exexplanation. often coming from home she would stop and feed horses. she did that often on her way home. she wanted to be a vet when she grew up. the flowers, the notes, the outpouring of support hasn't stopped . >> right
